News: Drunk Fans Face Being Shut Out Of Dens Park For Dundee V Aberdeen Cup Tie

Recommended Posts

Police Scotland is warning fans they will not be allowed into Dens Park for Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash between Dundee and Aberdeen if they are drunk.

Chief Superintendent Eddie Smith, Divisional Commander of Tayside Division said: “This game has all the makings of a great Scottish Cup tie.

“ I want to remind fans that they should not drink alcohol on coaches travelling to and from the game.

“Those who attend the ground drunk won’t be permitted entry into the stadium and may well be arrested.

“Police Scotland Aberdeen City Division and Aberdeenshire and Moray Division, along with specialist resources from other areas of the country, will be on duty throughout the day to assist local officers.”

I suspect this is aimed more at the Aberdeen fans.

Last time they were at Dens I saw quite a few who were completely pished getting knocked back by Taysides finest - they were stopping them before they even got to the turnstiles.  Didnt see any of them getting arrested, although I reckon the guy sleeping beside the scarf & badge seller may have got lifted for his own safety!
