As good a player as he is, but yet another injury, i hope Hartley is activley looking to find a permanent replacement for him in January. We need to get some continuity in our team selctions.

i do have sympathy for K.T. but unfortunately he is made of chocolate.

We have played 55 competitive games or so since Thomson signed.

How many 'quality' MOTM performances has he gave us.

The one derby that he played 90 mins

First league game last season v Killie before going off injured after 8 mins in 2nd game

Played well for 55 min sin this seasons opener (as did 7 or 8 others)

Keep reading quality when fit. I thought we played better when he went off on Saturday and got ball forward quicker

We are seriously down to him playing well in about 1 in 10 DFC games

Grim stuff

Kevin Thomson has played more games than Rory Loy and Nicky Low so far this season - is there a reason he gets more stick than anyone else?

For comparison he has also played a lot more than one of the DAB's marquee signings last season a certain Mario Bilate, as well as their vaunted CH Morris who you won' find many DAB's complaining about.

When Thomson is fit, he plays. He doesn't give MoM performances (in your opinion) because he isn't an eye-catching, flashy player. What he does do is dictate the tempo of the whole match with ease and adds a bit of physicality to our powderpuff midfield.

If boys can't see what Thomson brings to the team and the efcts he has on a match then I wonder if they actually watch the match.

the mans absolutely oozes  class  when he is on the pitch, boys like thompson would never be playing for us if he could play 40 games a season.

Agree with that.

Never agree with folk saying he slows play down. He moves the ball on quicker than anyone else in the team.

I would agree with all of that re Thompson last season but I do not think he has been anywhere near that standard this season.

Some of his antics on the pitch for a so called captain this year have also been disappointing. His rant at Jules after he gave him a hospital pass were pathetic as were his antics in the dug out after the game and also against Motherwell on Saturday he played a pass to Holt that he made an ar** of and it went out for a throw and he signalled to Holt like it was his fault.

There is no doubt Thomson has been and could still be a quality player but for me I wouldn't be offering him a new deal next year. In the last couple of games the team has looked a lot better when Harkins has come on.

I don;t think anyone can doubt Thomson's abilities.

I think the question is, where do we draw the line when it comes to keeping him?

Are his constant injuries worth the contract?

Is his (it must be admitted) spotty performances this season a concern, or just a (for him) bad spell?

In a nutshell... is he truly worth the money anymore, or can we get someone who would perform to a similar standard, but not be constantly injured?

Some folk find it impossible to look at KT without imagining his supposed weekly wage. We have 15 points from 10 games and he has been instrumental in that. As Ivan says, if the pass is on KT will play it.

I think it's fair to say that everyone who played has been instrumental in our tally thus far.

But I think it's also fair to say that KT has been showing some unusual traits this season that were not on show last season.

Where has this sudden temper come from?

Personally, I think the flaws that we are beginning to see are something HE is struggling to cope with, and thus is lashing out when they occur.

He is without doubt still a talented player, but (personally) I think cracks are beginning to show when he is on the pitch this year, and I think he is reacting badly to them.

(S'all psychological!)
