Murray is brutal. Will be back at Arbroath before the season is out. Headless chicken.

This. He's got a bit of pace but he doesn't seem to have much footballing ability at all. Might be able to mature and become a decent player in the second or third tier but don't see anything that suggests he'll ever be able to be a regular at this level. He's decent enough to add an extra threat in very specific match situations coming off the bench but not enough to stay up. Saying that, I ripped on Brian Graham for a while and saw him as a one season wonder at Raith but he has proven me wrong and is settled in this league so could be off the mark again.

Assuming there were no budgetary constraints and we could sign any of them without worrying about balance, I'd actually take quite a few of them. They have some very decent players but just lack any sort of balance and tactical cohesion. The problem they have is that whenever any young player makes an appearance for them, they manage to hype them so much that they can never match their expectations. If someone like Carreiro was to make an appearance for them, we'd be hearing about him in the national press and he'd be getting his own 'Iniesta' nickname with spreads in the national press about how amazing he's going to be.

  • Luis Zwick - Not even joking. He's only 21 and seems to have a brilliant amount of confidence for a 'keeper his age (reminds me of Bain a bit) and has pretty much all the obvious attributes to be a top class goalie. United are exposing him to top flight football far too soon after picking him up from an amateur side and then throwing him behind a useless side that can't handle the basics. If he does a Scott Bain by dropping down the leagues and working his way back up or finds a side that let him learn his trade out on loan for a couple of seasons, I reckon he could be a success story. United are destroying him in the spotlight right now.
  • Mark Durnan - Was raved about at Queen's and seemed to be in demand before he made the move there in the summer. Like Zwick, he has come under more pressure due to managerial incompetence and hasn't been handled well at all. A decent manager would do well with him I reckon.
  • John Souttar - Drastically over rated by them (at current ability) and seems a bit of a poser but going to have a good future. He's tall, physical and actually quite good on the ball. He needs a bit of discipline and someone who could kick his ar** but got everything in him to become a good player. Reckon United won't see him anywhere near his best thankfully :)
  • Ryan McGowan - Big physical player who is decent enough on the ball and is very effective at this level. Reckon that if he wasn't there, they'd be suffering a lot worse. He can play all across the back and in midfield so would come in handy a lot.
  • Charlie Telfer - Been overhyped ridiculously after joining from Rangers but a technically gifted player and could do well for himself. He actually reminds me a bit of Sam Stanton who we were after in the summer. He can go two ways really but there is a player in there.
  • Blair Spittal - Seems to be a decent footballer but has suffered from being moved around a lot and also made the step up relatively recently. He has it in him to do brilliant things and when confident, is capable of really damaging a team (i.e. us). His poor attributes seem to all be mental so that leads me to believe he can improve quite a lot. The fact that MacNamara was playing him at right back for a lot of last season shows the ability he had to damage players.

Got a feeling that Connolly won't go much further. Every time I've watched him for an extended period of time, I've noticed that his touch isn't actually that good and that combined with his small height isn't the best combination. He has glimpses of danger but I reckon that he runs himself into danger so much more often and it's inevitable that he'll do a few things that look good on camera.

Can't really comment on Scott Fraser much as although I've heard good things, only seen him once or twice (and not really been paying attention).

Seriously?

He's looked absolutely awful.

One of Partick's goals was a header from about a yard out on Saturday.
