Greg Stewart’S Return A Big Boost For Dundee

Hitman Greg Stewart is set to give Dundee a boost by being in his usual place at Hamilton on Saturday.

Stewart was the Dark Blues’ top scorer last season and has so far grabbed five goals this term.

That’s seen him targeted by opposition defences and he was kicked out of the last game, a Dens Park win over Motherwell.

After his striker had limped off with a badly-bruised ankle, manager Paul Hartley called for more protection for him from referees.

That came amid fears the 25-year-old had damaged ankle ligaments and could be sidelined for several weeks.

His manager, however, has confirmed to the Tele he was back in training with the rest of the first-team squad today. And so long as he suffers no reaction, he is now back on course to be on duty at New Douglas Park.

Dundee are also hoping centre-half James McPake can return to action this weekend.

The lynchpin of the defence missed out against Motherwell because of a jaw problem.

Secondly, a jaw problem? If i have heard that one before, I've forgotten about it. McPake should pack in this UFC stuff.

Maybe Bain wrapped him across the coupon when the two of them made an ar** of Dross County's second goal the other week. Both need to start showing some form again.
