McCabe's contribution - seems to be limited to screaming at the players whenever I've watched him.

If above amounts to a fair description of McCabes contribution both on and off the park,

then it certainly does look like there is plenty room for improvement in coaching terms.

I think we need to put some perspective on things, McCabe's contribution now getting questioned? We see them for 90 mins on a Saturday not all week so we've no idea if this is all his contribution is limited to?

We're going through a bad patch so we will obviously react to it negatively but surely a bit of perspective is needed?

This is the hysteria I'm talking about. A bad result and our assistant manager is just a mouthpiece who offers nothing else. I despair.

Should we have a defence coach. Probably. I'm sure our generalist coaches work on defensive drills though.

Can we afford a defence coach? No Idea.

Is our coaching team structured in a way to have GK, Def, Mid and attacking coaches? - No idea, probably not.

We have a GK coach because it's a specialized position and doesn't require involvement in passing drills etc and has a slightly different focus RE physical conditioning.

I asked this a couple weeks back and got no response......thoughts now????

We have a full time goalie coach which seems strange if we have no defence coach....and what is McCabes contribution/area of expertise?

I think we're needing a coach who keeps nipping Hartley's head to find a starting 11 and a system and stick to it. Too much over thinking things recently. The last 2 results are down to Hartley fucking about with systems and personnel. Edited by Pablothedee

Precisely this.

Just someone to say "Paul, seriously mate...."

Does it matter what position the manager or coach played in their playing days, a coach is a coach, no matter where they played, miss all about tactics and setting the team out properly, I say the person who goes to watch the opponents is every bit as important as any coach.

I'd like to see us play to a formation and stick to it, no matter who we are playing, home or away. At the end of the day it's 11 v 11.

i was not saying we do not need a goalie coach...I know that is specialised but if he is continuously exposed by the defence surely that is worth working on. I am not hysterical either!!! I was merely asking what McCabe's strengths are? Was he a midfielder or defender as a player and where do we think his main area of expertise/support lies?

some of you boys would fall out with your shadows!
