It's John McGinn and not Paul from what I have read. :)

Good.  Isn't Paul McGinn's contract up at the end of the season in any case?  Nothing to be made there I would think.

Yes, his contract is up at the end of the year. I would suspect that PH will try to extend his contract, I would hope so anyway :)

How much do you think they would be prepared to splash?

Contract expires in the summer so nothing (or a small January fee).

McGinn is only 25 and is showing some signs of maturing into a very strong full back. In his first season, he was tested quite a lot and his errors were amplified a lot more because of the way we play (exactly like Holt is experiencing now). Recently, the errors have been reduced quite a bit and he's looked more solid even though he's not had much cover.

He won't ever be the sort of player to set the word alight so although I think his departure wouldn't be too harmful and we could get over it, it is also important to get some long term continuity in the squad as when you go through a turnover of players, you don't know how the new intake will handle the level we're at. McGinn is a good player at this level and is improving.

Not seen the Sun today but that looks like an article from when John was leaving St Mirren in the summer.

Anyone got the text anywhere so we can clear it up?

Always liked McGinn and I would looking to extend his contract if possible.  Get Kerr back next season as back up and possibly play right mid.

This article is from the 18th May.

Also John is at Hibs now, so totally misinformed.

I didn't see the date anywhere so I presumed that this was about now.

If Wigan are after McGinn then considering that his contract ends this season I would suspect we could have a battle to keep him next season.

I did check Wikipedia (I know lol) and it did state that he was still at St Mirren and if I read it further I would have seen the addendum about him moving to Hibs.
