Dundee Boss Paul Hartley Seeks Improvement From His Side

Dundee boss Paul Hartley says his players have got to up their game, if they’re to get anything from their trip to the Highlands this weekend.

The manager admits he was frustrated by his side’s poor show in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock.

After the match he offered no excuses, or even explanations, but reckons his team were “flatâ€.

He says if they want to get even a point from their trip to John Hughes’ Inverness the Dark Blues must show signs of a marked improvement.

And it’s hard work on the training field where Paul thinks the match will be won and lost.

He said: “We know we have to be better as a team when we go up there.

“What we have to do is go and work hard again this week.

“Things don’t get any easier for the players as we have a very tough away fixture at Inverness coming up.

“We know they will not make it easy for us. We must make improvements from the Killie game.â€

Paul has taken his fair share of criticism from punters in relation to the team he selected for last weekend’s Dens Park defeat.

Four strikers was an ambitious move which failed to pay off for Paul.

But he’s keeping his cards close to his chest about what kind of team he may select next time out.

“It’s going to be about picking a team that can get a result at Inverness,†he said.
