Very Quiet Recently

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the post count for the last few weeks and they're down to what they normally would be, at first I though it was just us until I looked at the Alexa figures for the main site and noticed that their rankings have gone down quite a bit recently as well. I'm just wondering if this is down to the team performance and the way things have gone in the league?

There hasn't been any real news coming out of Dens for a good while, except for the normal pre and post match responses and the general lotto stuff. I know that sometimes no news is good news but I feel that the club could be doing more to keep things rolling during.

If you feel that there is more we can do here, let us know. If you have an idea or think that you could help please feel free to let us know. :)

Second season syndrome... Peaks and troughs.

Us Dee's are long overdue some stability and dare I say it even a little boredom (in comparison to recent years)

Mid table mediocrity doesn't enduce passion amongst many supporters.

If we were fighting for our lives or flying high, I'm certain the forum would be busier.

why not lift the bans of people who have been banned, they might not of been everyones cup of tea, but they did contribute, and had people replying to their comments

I'm not so sure that they wouldn't just continue to spout the same old crap, despite being warned previously etc but that's for the site owners to address ..

However I'd be dead against it, as I don't want to listen to rockets banging on for weeks on end about the seating in the Derry, having to have your season ticket book with you and constant moans about the best stadium manager in the land for weeks on end.

Of course there's a place for that stuff, it's called D*ndee Mad  :D

Having said that I've always assumed that most of the guys post on here under other names anyway so it's no big deal.

If I remember correctlly in TDB's earlier days, did it not have a range of specifically named, sub topic headings ....rather than just "other topics".

The main page I think was then consolidated, to tidy up TDB forum. Would that put posters off ? A better idea ? Or did others find it restrictive ?

The main core of a football forum has to be exactly that, FOOTBALL. But when very little is happening, or the topic has been well worked over,

what then ? Should there be more space given to a wider range of other topics. Even the really controversial ones ? Or the ones that sometimes

delve into the world of fantasy ? Maybe even bordering on a wee touch of the world of madness, eg mine  :)  Could there be one exclusive area,

where just about anything could be allowed ? This could well be a bad idea and turn out to be real messy. I am thinking of a specific area on TDB

for posts that may be seen as offensive if posted on the main forum. A place where there is an opportunity to rant and rave without restrictions, if

that is what you feel you want to do ....without the fear of being warned, or banned. I am not advocating this .....But I am asking what others would

feel about that ? (I hope the Boss Man disnae ban me for even thinking o' that suggestion) It could even be used for meh own fantasy meandering

thoughts. And dare I say this, even POLITICS !!  I guess even if that was possible, it might pull Our Great TDB Forum  down a road that would not

benefit anyone ....  members, visitors, or TDB Forum. This could be the case maybe, if it was a free for all ...even if it was confined to one section.

I would like to add, I find introducing NEW TOPICS, however daft and irrelevant they might initially appear to be, usually encourages a wee burst o'

fresh posting .....Although some o' meh recent new topics have died a quick death..... B**tards :lol2:.    In fact I find that some new topics, which at

the outset, look like they'll get some real busy active responses fall flat, while others that appear to be of little interest can turn oot into great posts.

The lesson there might be for awe posters, new and auld, is tae shove in as many new topics as much as possible !! Certainly the maist daftest &

banal ones will always get a response fae me :D  I think some new posters can be a wee bit unsure in putting in their first post. Especially if it's a

new topic they are introducing and no' sure the reaction they will get.  This is understanadable.  But I think all of us on TDB are all very welcoming.

So whit are we awe waiting fir ? Let's get these posts in. We'll never die a slow, lingering, tortuous, toxic death, like some forums. So let's do it :)
