A few times now he has saved our bacon with his goals. 

Yet, he must be one of the most marmite players we have. I'll admit his first touch is not great and he gives the ball away quite a bit. 

I think he needs to be played through the middle so he can run onto balls etc.

Also, the abuse he gets is pretty unfair. Seen a lot of shouts to get him the F**k off on Saturday, How do these fans feel when he pops up and scores?

I've been aware of the abuse he gets in every home game this season.

Even in the opener against Hearts you heard the abuse he was getting from the Bobby Cox stand from The Main Stand for missing a chance.

Knew he'd be these type of fans target this season and they haven't disappointed so far.

It's disgraceful being honest.

Embarrassing as well as disgraceful.  He's not alone though - there are very few if any players exempt from getting the treatment even after one mistake or slip.

No idea why he gets abuse. He scores goals off meagre service.

Even more baffling is when he's dropped!

Its like the Deefiant season never happened, we had a fantastic support and its not like its ancient history.

Boy scores goals that's good enough for me.hardest part of the game and if the rest of his game lets him down so be it.he is doing what he is paid to do.good player

He gives us a physical presence that no other player seems to be able to and he's an instinctive finisher.

He has had only a few clear cut chances and he's scored a high percentage of those.

I remember on opening day wondering about him as he had 3/4 good chances in the first half and missed them all but when watching the highlights later on none of them were as easy as they looked in the ground.

Given time and better service Hemmings is going to be a great player for us.

Fair enough that he hasn't been in the best of form recently but like quite a few players in the team, it doesn't seem we use him in the best way. Don't want to see him drop deep or pushed out wide which is the way we seem to be using him. Give him something that he can run on to through the middle just like his goal on Saturday. Not the first time he's scored a crucial goal this season, winner v the fermers and two equalisers with 5 mins to go on Saturday and with a couple to go v caley. The abuse he get is totally unwarranted.

I think our fans are some of the worst at times. We dipped our hands into our pockets when needed, and in terms of that we can never be slated, we're top notch - but we're only too quick to take a pat on the back yet some of the abuse individual players are singled out for is unreal. Booing at half time when we're drawing (I thought that was bad enough in the first, nevermind the top flight!). Screaming at players for passing it back to the keeper and retaining possession when there's nothing on or missing a chance. *** forbid they make a mistake, then the heavens open on them!

Playing for us can't be fun for the confidence style player.

Agree with that 100 per cent. I had wallopers behind me on Saturday screaming at ball boys as well.

You'll never change some of the fans at Dens, I have a couple beside me in the Bobby Cox, one of them is old enough to have seen us win the league, they are on the players backs from the start, it's like they can't wait for someone to make a mistake.
