It’s not often that Scottish football is blessed by genius.

It’s even less likely to be seen in the U/20 Development League.

Step forward 18-year-old Kilmarnock midfielder Scott McLean.

The teenager – who made his Killie debut v Celtic in August – channelled his inner Marco van Basten at Rugby Park yesterday afternoon.

It wasn’t Euro 88 and Netherlands v USSR all over again but it was pretty damn good. And the opposition just happened to be Dundee youths, who were dished out a five goal hammering by the youngsters from Ayrshire.

Nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned, I'd be more worried about other aspects of that game than Harkins offering support/encouragement to what looks like a very talented 18yr old. Just meh opinion though.

I'd rather he was clapping him for scoring a consolation when we're four up Rev..

Sums up why most of our talented youngsters are out on loan and demonstrates what's wrong with development football. It doesn't provide the competitive edge that boys like that need.
