Was sitting with a dab, 3 dees and a hun. (A hun lol)

This was brought up by a fellow Dee which I think is open for good discussion.

Our recent results have been excellent, amazing start to the season. And I was boasting about this, however in seasons gone by..... St, mirren, inverness, kilmarnocks etc have all done well, like us, in the past. But will we sustain it. Once Hartley leaves and a few players leave, have we got it at our club to replace these people? Or is this just a time where we look back thinking "oh, I remeber that season under Hartley we were good"

I hope so. doesnt bare thinking about actually as this is a great feeling following a half decent team.

Hartley's been with us less than a year and people are already asking how we'll replace him once he leaves?

When he does leave however, hopefully three or four years from now, we can be sure the club will be in much better positions than when he arrived both on and off the field.

St. Mirren, Inverness and Kilmarnock have also had decent runs in the top tier. Maybe shows that you can't afford an off season or you're going to struggle.

I reckon we should stay positive for now though; I'm enjoying the football more now than I have in years.

I spoke to Bill Colvin at Dee v Saints game the other week, nipped his head about getting P.H. to sign that extension that's apparently on offer. He told me not to worry as Paul loves it here and would be going nowhere in the foreseeable future.

I would still feel happier if it was signed though.

As for now, i'm enjoying watching a decent team on the park that's is trying to play good football, its night and day from the keech we have been served up from the last eight or so years

After too many years in the wilderness we have a set up on and off the pitch which richly deserve our support.

Looking back at the last 30 years, I wonder how we could have been so badly run and survive.

I am enjoying match days at Dens again and actually look forward to each home match and the odd away game.

With a couple of decent signings in January we should enjoy a great run to the end of the season.

Does not matter a jot. When the likes of Celtic or the English leagues come calling they will buy out his contract :(

Exactly this.

After so many years of mismanagement and playing outside the top division we are now becoming an attractive proposition for ambitious managers and players. All we can ask is that the BOD show the same professional approach in sourcing PH's replacement when that time comes and we don't resort to type with a knee jerk, lazy appointment.

You know what, I don't know PH personally but I'm willing to bet that if we don't make the top 6 he will be disappointed. I'll be happy with 10th come May but on what I have seen so far this season we have come a long way in a fairly short time.
