Price Of A Pint

Recommended Posts

Kia ora

Coming home for Christmas and new year, and was wondering how much a pint costs these days? Only 2 home games while I am there which is disappointing, also disappointing nae mare Wahllaces Pehs.

I suppose I'll see a change in the City, but can't wait to go exploring. Probably pop into The Bowser on match day and say Kia ora to DD, heard its a good Dee pub these days, used to drink there and the Barrels match days in years gone by. Oh and is Foreigners still going in Meadowside ( to old for it now though).

Anyway a nice pint o Tennents here I come excited.gif.pagespeed.ce.OVjme09QBc.gif

@@KiwiDee you'll notice that everything south of Union St and Castle St is basically a building site just now.. The whole waterfront is being regenerated and is starting to take shape.

I don't really get out in the town anymore but i'm guessing a pint in the city centre boozers costs £3.00 - £3.50. The further out of town you go (up the Hilltown or Stobie) the more likely you are to find a pub at £2.50 a pint.

DD will keep you right on that one..

Thats actually way cheaper than I thought it would be. I won't be drinking in the city centre unless its a bar lunch. Will stick to ma local The Admiral bar or the tap o the hill on match days. I'd heard they were redeveloping the waterfront  beleive the train station is getting done up as well.

Wetherspoons is the devil tho.

A pint in the ferry any where else will cost you £3 upwards. And with that you get some sort of atmosphere/football/music etc.

While Wetherspoons is the Tesco of the pub world you know what you get with it. As you say if you're looking for a place with a bit of character its not going to be a Wetherspoons but if you're looking to bet batfaced cheaply then its not a bad option. They do some pretty decent wines too, which works for me, some pubs rip the p*ss with the vino.

Aye they do some good beers an all, it just feels that bit too mass marketed tho for more than a couple of pints IMO.
