Wasn't there last week,so can't comment, but Steviebhoys comments at the end of this are classic.

Total Belter.

The head of Dundee’s main fans group is writing to Celtic and the SPFL after some travelling supporters last week were left with a view of just half the pitch.

That’s despite the crowd of 43,000 for the Dark Blues 2-1 loss to the Hoops being the best part of 20,000 short of capacity at Parkhead.

Several hundred Dundee fans attended but many only had tickets with a restricted view when an adjacent section of seating remained closed and draped with Celtic supporters’ flags.

It’s not a new problem but a flood of complaints from members has prompted Dundee Supporters Association chairman Kenny Ross to raise the matter.

“I have been inundated by emails and phone calls from DSA secretaries telling me about a disappointing experience last weekend and I am going to ask Celtic to comment,†he told the Tele.

Among the points he’ll raise are:

“Why were Dundee FC only given 300 unrestricted view seats when there were 20,000 empty seats at the game.

“Could the Dundee support not have been accommodated in an area with an unrestricted view? They could have easily sat behind the goal just along from where they were housed or in the section in the top tier where the flags were.

“Why is the large screen TV that used to be attached to the huge view restricting pillar in the away end been removed when there are still screens on which the match can clearly be seen in the home ends? In some seats almost half the pitch cannot be seen and the large TV screen that used to be attached to the pillar used to help a bit.

“Why were some Dundee fans sold unrestricted view seats for an extra £3 only to find when they turned up that stewards told fans to sit where they want.

“Why did one of my members arrive at his seat only to find there wasn’t actually one there. How can Celtic sell a seat for a space where the seat is no longer there?â€

Ross is also forwarding a copy of the fans’ complaints to SPFL headquarters at Hampden.

It is a farce but you could say this for all teams. Every Premiership could be accomodated somewhere better in the stadium that Celtic don't fill.

On the non-existent seat, it probably did exist but the fan was in the wrong section.

My seat was in section 119 but when I went to go through the doors that were signposted, a steward told me it was for home fans only. I followed the arrows to section 118 and found the seat wasn't there - until a steward told me to go further along the row, where lo and behold the numbers stopped at 1 half way along, with the seat next to it being 20-something. In other words, the sections change half way along the rows.

Completely stupid especially when you're denied access to the stairs that take you to the correct section.

I never got to park head for this reason.

Its a joke that you are treated like a second class citizen.

20,000 spare seats.... But we sit in a wee corner behind a pillar.

I opted not to go to this one and I hated missing a game (that I could have gone to) but as you say, second class citizens from the club and it pains me to say the police. I felt offended 2 years ago when we were up getting patted down and the sniffer dog coming round us. I'm a fat middle aged guy who goes with his wife to the football and its not for us. I know others who felt the same and chose not to go through.

I'm happy for the Police/stewards to come down on people who misbehave but at least give us the benefit of the doubt.

Why not see what the other clubs think. If they were asked for their views and agreed about the unfairness of the situation might Celtic do something about it? A boycott isn't the answer but a sensible campaign that was coming from all the other clubs might produce a result.

I can only speak for myself (and Missus Root) but its not a boycott as such, more along the lines of just not wanting to put myself in that position. Maybe I'm a snob or take myself too seriously or whatever but much as I love going to see my team in this instance I chose not to. Football is supposed to be entertainment and while its unfortunate that there are a lot of things that are generally wrong with the football experience I found this a step too far. It was unnecessarily intimidatory and I grudge paying to be treated like a suspected criminal.

Out of curiousity, for those who went through to Celtic Park, were the police still patting folk down and (the dogs) sniffing for drugs ?

Always the same at Celtic Park. If you choose to go to a game there, prepare yourself for being treated like utter sh**e for the duration of your stay :-(

Glad to see the DSA have taken issue with it and it will be interesting to see what (if any) type of response we get..

Surprisingly not. I've been patted-down three times this season - at Tannadice, Motherwell and Dingwall, of all places.  I've never anything to hide, but if it keeps happening I might get a bit more belligerent and request it be done by a police officer, i.e. the only people you're legally obliged to submit to a search from.
