Falling Attendances .......can Anything Be Done ?

Recommended Posts

Basically as the Heading says .................Attendances Drop in Scottish Football ......OK so we better put the prices up !!

THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER ANSWER THAN THIS ?

Crowds Drop = Prices Up = Crowds Drop = Prices Up = Crowds Drop etc. etc. etc.                          What is the Answer ?

Maybe we could go back to including a Scottish cup game and a league cup game in the season ticket. Off course we would have to charge a bit extra for a season ticket, which might put folk off buying one  and then that idea would backfire. Think I have just talked myself out of that argument.

The English Premiership has had a massive effect on us up here.

Too many folk look down to the glamour and mega money of our neighbour then decide that Scottish football is sh**e. They then start supporting Chelsea, Arsenel, City etc and buy the gear, claim to be superfans etc, all the while maybe going to a game a year and wathcing them on tv all the time.

If you ask these kind of guys why they don't follow a local team they will mention things like crowds and quality etc, not realising that they are in fact a big part of the reason there is no money or quality in our leagues.

You raise a good point about the 'fans' of English teams, when we were going through our second 'little mishap' I asked some friends who were all die hard Dees who they would start going to watch if we went to the wall. I was surprised how many said they would just follow their English team and go a couple of times a year. I came to the conclusion that I would go and watch Dunfermline (I go to the odd game if Dundee aren't playing, just to take a game in although it would be weird to go without Dundee in my life) as they're my new local team, in that respect I'm glad I don't live in the City of Dundee, I'd think I'd be getting into Junior football.
