Hartley Hopes Dundee Can Move On From Dismal Defeat To Aberdeen

Recommended Posts

Dundee manager Paul Hartley hopes to put his side’s poor showing against Aberdeen on Saturday well behind him.

The Dee boss knows the importance of lifting his troops head of next weekend’s trip to take on Motherwell at Fir Park.

The lacklustre Dark Blues barely threatened the Dons in the 2-0 home defeat on Saturday lunchtime – their only real chance coming on 16 minutes when Nicky Low was brought down inside the box by Andy Considine, only for referee Bobby Madden to rule otherwise despite television evidence.

Hartley said: “It’s all about the next game now. We haven’t won since October in the league and we’ve had a few draws.

“We didn’t help ourselves with this performance so we have to do better in the next game at Motherwell.

“We’ll train hard this week and prepare properly in the hope of getting a positive result.â€

Aberdeen showed they are back to their best as first-half goals from Niall McGinn and Adam Rooney earned them a 2-0 victory to move within four points of leaders Celtic.

Derek McInnes said of the win: “It was a very good all-round display. I could easily name some top performers for us.

“But we’re all in this together and now we need to pick up another three against Hearts next week.

“We need to knuckle down and keep going and I’m sure the lads will do that, by just looking at the next game as it comes.â€
