I'm all for trying something new but four League Cup games before the likes of Celtic and Aberdeen join the competition? Seems like a lot of football to get to the quarter-finals of the Scotland's second most important cup competition.

Yep. I was just wondering if replacing two knock-out games with four group games would take on with the fans. No harm in trying I suppose,

All up for discussing the ideas and fair play to them trying something. The bit that stuck out to me was the games being televised so hopefully that means a wee cash boost.

Would like to set it up regionally with the top teams in that area seeded so we don't ruin the derbies.

However, what's the point in a winter break for the first two weeks of January? We did it a few seasons back and scrapped it because it doesn't help fixture congestion at all. We could have two perfectly good weeks and then hit the worst weather in the third week.

I do love this shoot-out and bonus point idea.

If it works I would honestly bring it in for the regular league. It's something that could easily see another team compete at the top of the league by picking up the odd bonus point and Celtic dropping them.

Years ago the NHL did this and have never looked back.

Like the thinking behind this. The older I get, the less inclined I am to go to friendlies and this gives us competitive games earlier. More inclined to travel to away games in summer rather than the depths of winter as well.

At least they are trying something different and I like the extra point idea. In ice hockey at the end of regular play if it is a draw then each team gets one point then they go into overtime and the first team to score gains an extra point. Similar idea here. Hopefully the "new" competition is marketed well because I think football can still improve its marketing both at our club and as a Scottish sport generally.

Hi chomp .... I have been kinda quiet & keeping meh heid doon on TDB Forum the past few days.

(Cannae seem tae get enthused, or feel much positivity aboot DFC, Team, or even PH, since Sat)

Then I saw the earlier news o' the "re-vamp" and rghtly or wrongly, it kinda motivated me tae post.

So posted in a positive manner re-above topic. But now I've seen his smug mug, I feel I may have

posted too hastily. Now I believe the idea is doomed to fail !! Could this be the case ? Or is it simply

the image above has caused me to reconsider ? Looking at him, is physically & mentally affecting me.

I'm feeling nauseous.Should I make appointment with my Doctor ? Or has he this affect on everyone?
