It's the manager's job to have the players focused from the first minute. That's two games running where we've lost the game in the first half hour.

I dont know when the Manager (or players) get interviewed by these newspaper reporters, but I assume it's right after the game.

If they've not had the time to prepare, something that sounds a wee bit mair intelligent & constructive, they would do theirselves

(& us) bit more justice, if when being asked to comment, they asked the reporter to come back when they are better prepared.

That said, most of the reporters will either twist the words to suit theirselves, or search the general text for an exclusive headline !!

Managers are control freaks. The less they give away the better, I don't think Hartley or any manager cares if they're repeating the same lines week in, week out as long as it's not causing scandal they'll be happy.

That's maybe part of his mumbling/dour thing too, play it deadpan and don't give the journo's anything that they can twist or sensationalise.

But you think it wouldna take too much effort to come oot wi a few sensible words.
