Match Preview: Hamiltion (19Th December 2015)

Recommended Posts

It would be an understatement to say that this last few weeks have been tough for everyone at the club, the supporters and especially Paul Hartley.

Last week’s defeat at the hands of Motherwell caused the forum to go into melt down with many voicing their concerns with the way things are on the pitch, mainly the tactics and players who some fans believe that haven’t quite pulled their weight in recent games. One thing is sure, we haven’t won in what feels like an eternity, but we haven’t been quite getting beat either. We have had an armful of draws, yet it still feels like we are in free fall towards the relegation zone, but it’s quite ironic but we are only a few points away from top six.

As Christmas comes, a lot of the fans are hoping for an early Christmas present and a much needed win against a club that hasn’t been doing that well either.

The last encounter between ourselves and Hamilton ended in a spectacular 1-1 draw way back in October. It wasn’t exactly a memorable game, where both defensives were shaky from the start. The Dark Blues scored straight after the start of the second half, Hamilton failed to clear a Stewart free kick, and Kevin Holt stepped up to score from 25 yards out.

After a pretty bad start in the first half, the Dee enjoyed a better second half and Healy nearly made it two, but his touch was poor and he missed his chance. We looked pretty comfortable for most of the second half and looked to be taking 3 points back against a 10 man Hamilton side. Ex Dee favourite had a hand in Hamilton’s goal with a neat run to set up Dougie Imrie who put the ball past Bain from close range.

If we need to stop the rot, we have to look at this as a must win game and the players need to put the past behind them at three o’clock this Saturday.  This is a game were we have to play positive from the start and over the ninety minutes, as Hamilton will not make it easy for us in front of our home crowd.

Onwards, and upwards!
