Severe ligament damage to the knee. Looks like his last game for the Dees as his contract is up this season. Feel sorry for the lad. Apart from a few blips he has been a good servant to the Club

I imagine if it's that bad to keep him out for the whole season, we'll look after him and probably give him facilities over the summer. I'd be in favour of giving him a small deal for an extra few months if it helps him get sorted out with a new club or even run him through his badges. It'd be a good gesture as the injury may make his full time career over.

He was the last continuous link with the Deefiant season, GGH was there but had a few adventures of his own in the mean time. Irvine has 'come good' for us after the fans falling out of love with him a couple years back, myself included but he fought his way back so well done to the guy. What's the verdict guys, is he worth another year ?????

Gutted to hear our one time POTY and longest serving player is badly crocked.

His goals kick-started our season this time last year and he returned to the team at the weekend to help us get back on track. Big loss. Hope the club looks after him.

Agree 100%.  I don't do any of the Facebook/Twitter sh**e but I can't remember any threads about cryptic comments from this fella.  2nd string the majority of the season so far but just got on with it.  The very fact he had the armband (I think) when this happened speaks volumes.  If it's serious the club need to look after him in some shape or form until he gets back on his feet.  No pun intended.

As for Cammy Kerr - if nothing else, it would put the debate to bed one way or another to see if he's up to it.

Gary Irvine is someone that I want 'juiced in' at the club. He's as close as it gets these days to a club stalwart. If and touch wood it isn't, that was to be his last game - I'd hope we'd get him involved in the coaching side of things.

If this is the end for Gary then I wish him a speedy recovery and all the best in the future.

Boy's like him kept our club alive and that is something I'll always be grateful for.

I think he would suit a coaching role. imo he has the right attitude and mentality for it, his effort on the park was never a question for me even through the rough times and his goals last season were very influential at the time in us pushing on towards the top six.

Really sad to hear that. I feared the worst when he was stretchered off. Hope we can sort him out with some kind of deal, coaching if he can't play anymore

Yea horrendous knee injury. While it happened, another of their cloggers took out, I think, GGH. Ref didn't even think it warranted a foul. How on earth did we end up committing more fouls than them? This happens every week.
