Mcginn

Heard from a fellow Dee today that Mcginn is not being offered a new deal, i find this hard to believe as i like Mcginn.

He also said we are looking at a Spanish striker.

I asked him where this info was coming from and he said his son was speaking to John Nelms.

Anyone else heard this?

Isn't the Spanish lad more a greg stewart type of player though? Well that what we got told, because Stewart will be sold this window.

I wouldn't be that surprised if McGinn wasn't given a new deal, but I'd presume if that's the case then it's because Hartley has lined up or identified better option(s). I like McGinn but he has struggled defensively at times both this season and last, although I do believe our formation and players in front don't help the defence much.

Big call not to offer McGinn a new deal.....consistent performer in my opinion

Hartley's proven to be absolutely ruthless before so it wouldn't be a great shock if he done something like that but personally I'd go against Hartley on this one.

Unless he believes Kerr has more potential and Irvine is cheaper/happier to be back-up/better for the squad off the field I can't see it happening as he still, Saturday aside, clearly views him as our first choice RB.

I'll pick up the ball and run with it seeing as how its all speculation at the moment. If McGinn hasn't had a contract offer already then maybe his agent has got something lined up for him so he might be happy to see out his time and move on. This leaves us with an injured Irvine and the recalled Kerr. If an offer HAS been made and he's told the club to poke it then maybe this has prompted PH to look for more 'committed' players. As I say, sheer speculation based on the OP which might or might not be bollocks.

I like mcginn however we have Irvine, kerr, Andy black and Sam Dryden who all play there. If we got some money for him then I'd let him go if he doesn't want to sign a new contract.

McGinn told him no and got benched.
