Football can be a funny game at times.

We've just took 5 off Ross County.

We've only won 1 game in our last 10 and have lost 3 out our last 4.

We're playing the league leaders and the clear best team in Scotland for a few years now.

We haven't beat them at Dens since 1988.

We haven't beat them in a game since 2001.

We've lost 5 games in a row against them.

We've only managed 1 draw in our last 12 games against them.

We have injury concerns over our keeper, captain and the guy that has scored 7 out our last 8 goals.

A lot of our fans have completely written the game off and are only interested in the derby.

All of the above is why I believe we can get something out the game tomorrow (i haven't had a drink since Boxing Day before anyone asks!)

Pressure completely off us for probably the first time this season.

They have key players due to miss the game also.

They've drew and lost their last 2 games and have failed to win almost a third of their league games this season.

Come on Dundee! As good a chance as we'll get in a long time to get something off this mob as they aren't at full strength and haven't been firing on all cylinders this season.

Hopefully admin deletes this thread tomorrow evening if we get the standard heavy one sided defeat

Good to see a bit of optimism, I'm digging it bro.

kMfwaQi.gif

I've been Mr Negative for a couple of months on this forum generally speaking but the day I chuck in the towel before a ball is kicked for an 11 v 11 game of football at Dens whether it be against champions Celtic or more to the point, the worst team in the league who sit on 10 points (13 points below us)  is the day I give it up.

8 seasons out the last 11 struggling to get out the First Division playing the Dumbarton's and Cowdenbeath's of this world and we have fans in full on doom mode about a home game against the best team in Scotland live on BT Sport and a home Dundee Derby against the worst United team in 15 years.

Bring them both on.

(my new attitude :) )

I am trying to feel even, a wee bit optimistic, about tonight's game.   But it just doesn't seem to happening.

Those who read my posts before a DFC game, know I never forecast a result, so my view may be irrelevant.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility,  we could pick up at least one point. Much depends on mindset.

At the very least, I hope (even expect) Dundee to go out there, with a recognisable game -plan & show the

fans, and prove to themselves, that they mean business.  And are more than capable of rising to the task.

"C'mon the Dark Blues"..."C'mon Paul Hartley" ..." C'mon the Team" ...It's time for us to feel pride again :)

Agree with this if we can somehow manage to sort our defence out. They play a high line so if we can break quickly then we can cause them problems going forward. I'd bring the pace of Calder in for this one and we know what Hemming's pace can do already
