Immensely enjoyable Derby victory for a few reasons.

1. They should've had the game sown up by the half hour.

2. We were utterly woeful but still won at a canter.

3. One year on from the new year horror show, it is so satisfying to delight in their forthcoming relegation.

However, when the dust settles, we'll have to acknowledge the fact that we were brutal today and would have lost against any other team. Must do better and by no means safe from relegation ourselves.

But that's a discussion for another day. Let's just enjoy today.

Before our equaliser we seemed determined to go 2-0 down. McGinn turned his back on the ball and nearly scored an own goal. Gadzhalov charged into Bain as he was punching the ball clear and then Konrad stuck a boot out to trip one of their players in the box. Thankfully United are rank rotten and in the end they were lucky to only lose 2-1 with their keeper making a worldy of a save to stop McGowan scoring. That's surely them down now.

I think after the first half hour or so we were comfortable, but with some more urgency in the final third it could have been more so.  I also think that McPake's injury kept us from settling down for longer than we would like.  Its never nice to see anyone get an obviously very serious injury like that and it's not unusual for teams to struggle after it happens to one of their players.  No one likes seeing their mate in that sort of pain.

United are clearly awful.  They have absolutely nothing in any area of the pitch, are poorly organised, leaderless and prone to clangers.  They are down.  We probably made hard work of it, but 3 points is 3 points and a derby win is a derby win.

Excellent well balanced post Frank, lets all enjoy this win , the fans really deserve it, but with the transfer window opening we Urgently now require

a BIG 6ft 3" plus Centre Half and a ball winning Midfielder.

It was a dive and you could see it on TV, there was maybe a toe tip of contact, but the DAB was already halfway to the ground by then.

The dab definitely made the most of it but if you're a defender kicking out like that and missing the ball in your own box you're taking a hell of a risk.
