I was interested to see/read the aftermath from the game on Saturday. Dees were surprisingly subdued considering the result. Probably a combination of a few factors- 1) We didn't pump them as we would have liked 2) We possibly didn't play as well as many would want, further adding to the 'uneasy' feeling many of us have about the team/PH 3) We are realistic enough to recognise that they are not a good side and we should be beating them at home.

On the other hand, we did win a game that perhaps many Dees were not optimistic about and without Stewart. We are on an upward trajectory IMO, they are clearly not.

For me, a pat on the back to all concerned and we are safe in the knowledge we didn't kick-start their season for them. We will never know, but Saturday might just have been the 90 minutes that swung the pendulum of power in the city in our favour. I like to think so.

Onward and upwards- and feeling a helluva lot better than this time last week t.b.h.

I think we're all aware of the reality of the league this year.

It's far too congested in the middle for any team from 5-6th to 11th to feel particularly safe.

Given that we've been spotty (at best) recently, I think as a support we're in a holding pattern.

Things look as if they are going our way... but we know enough to NEVER count our chickens!  :)

Our boozer definitely wasn't subdued on Saturday I'll tell you that much.

We weren't great on Saturday but we've beat United without our captain and best midfielder (for 70 minutes anyway), our star forward suspended, our leading centre half going off injured after 9 minutes, a young boy starting right wing who was playing for Peterhead 2 weeks ago. It's to our credit that we managed to get through it given those factors. We've won 2 of our last 3 games and won our last 2 home games which has been big issue for us since promotion. Even up at Dingwall we were excellent for an hour until we lost the plot. After Motherwell away I was convinced we were heading for the playoff but things are looking up a bit now.

Looking at the table again Joe, i'd go further and say anyone from Saints down to Killie are looking over their shoulders - well, maybe not Killie!

Saints are 10 clear of 11th place - not a great deal if they were to hit a rocky patch. Saying that, I'd swap with them:)

Not seriously suggesting St Johnstone are really in any danger, but it does show how tight the league is between top group and bottom this season. Not a good season to find yourself at the bottom- ask our neighbours!

Not only was he playing for Peterhead a couple of weeks ago, his last proper game was for the Dev team against ICT at Montrose last week. He was playing left back and watched by a crowd of approx 20 hardy souls. I've seen him a lot over the past couple of seasons and know what his strengths are . In pre season at Brechin, again he was at left back and not really able to show his best form. Fast forward a week and here he was in front of 11k and having a great game and a standing ovation. I hope he feels really chuffed and goes on to have a great year (with a new contract !)

As has been said, this is a difficult Division and one victory in a Derby is not necessarily going to change the end of season positions.

But it was Derby !!   And as well as winning, we showed the guts and fighting spirit that all of us want to see always in a Dundee Team.

How would we've felt, if the result went the other way? More importantly what would it have done for each team? More than just 3 points.

Is It A Sign? ..... Only The Messiah Can Answer That
