Riccardo Calder has returned to parent club Aston Villa following a loan spell at Dundee.

The 19-year-old made 11 appearances for the Dens Park side, mostly as a substitute, since joining at the end of August.

He made his debut from the bench against Partick Thistle in the 1-0 win at Firhill on September 12.

He made two assists, but failed to find the net. The first assist came in the 2-1 win over Motherwell in October.

A short statement from the Dark Blues read: “The club can confirm that Riccardo Calder’s loan deal has come to an end and he has returned to parent club Aston Villa.

Can't help but see this as a missed opportunity.

For the club as much as Calder.

Have you got shares in this lad, Joe?  You do come across as very defensive of the fella.

What can I say, bud.

I truly think he was a hugely wasted player.

I saw more in him than I ever saw in Roberts.

I saw more in him than I see in some of our regular 1st players.

He was young, he had talent and he had pace.

He doesn't have injuries hanging over him.

He was passionate when he played.

(Bloody hell

I'm almost writing haiku's here!)

Fair enough.  You have got shares in him then.

To be fair, I can't argue with most of what you have written there (except 'passionate' maybe) but it could have been written about Kevin McBride (apart from the young and pace bits) :P
