Speaking Of Celtic...

Recommended Posts

Hearts chairman Ann Budge ain't pulling any punches talking about Celtic fans. Apparently they wrecked 100 seats at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Hope our club follows suit if trouble happens next time.

"I was appalled at the vandalism carried out by our visiting supporters on Sunday.  Having recently spent significant sums to replace broken seats in the Roseburn Stand, for the benefit, primarily, of our away supporters, I was hugely disappointed to witness the destruction of close to 100 seats. Similarly, the graffiti on walls, tiles, doors - basically all types of surfaces - was quite disgraceful and this is not to mention the damage to toilets.

I have discussed all of these matters with members of the Celtic Executive and we are working co-operatively to address the issues.  No club should be on the receiving end of such unacceptable behaviour and no club should be put in the position of having to defend such behaviour.

The most distressing emails/reports I have received are of intimidation both to fans and to staff from away fans. Everyone gets frustrated when officials and police appear to take little or no action. "

Always a conspiracy to them. They deny anything happened on boxing day when it was their own fans who raised complaints and feared for their safety.

Hearts release a statement explaining that they have given a supporter a life ban and are making steps to take action and track down more offenders. They then explain their situation with the away fans and highlight that sort of unacceptable behaviour. Celtic respond with a statement about how glorious their own fans are and how they are constantly given 'sectarian' abuse (in other words they got abuse, they relate any type of criticism as being 'sectarian') and are a great example to all footballing fans and then go onto how awful Hearts fans are.

Would have thought that we'd moved past that type of mind set a wee while ago.

Give Celtic tickets on the understanding that they will have to pay for any damage done to the stadium by their fans. I would prefer that they were given the Shankly and nothing more. If we had a big enough support I'd give them the seats below the main stand but unfortunately they would not be able to have direct access from the street.

And yet our club won't release a statement about Aberdeens refusal to lower prices because we might need 'friends'in the future.

Well done Hearts.

Not too sure that there's a correlation between the 2 mate, Aberdeen (allegedly) not agreeing to lower prices isn't quite the same as what happened at Tynecastle or for that matter Dens a couple of years back. I don't think you'll get anyone that would argue the prices were 'right' for the Aberdeen game but its done now.

Pretty much behaved the same way they did on Boxing day 2012 then.

Totally dude. They were an absolute disgrace that game and the popular press and the powers that be said very little or nothing about it. Celtic themselves took some action to their credit but when they dinnae hae their common enemy, the ither ugly sister, tae fight wi. They bring their brand o bullshit tae other grounds and even amongst themselves that night. Best behaved supporters in the land??? Behave!
