Gary Harkins feared adverse weather conditions were going to cost Dundee their convincing win at Partick Thistle on Saturday. The playmaker was instrumental as the rampant Dark Blues notched up a 4-2 victory at Firhill.

After racing into a three-goal lead in the first 15 minutes, Harkins was concerned that their hard work was going to be in vain due to heavy snowfall. But, in the end, not even the weather could prevent Dundee from coming out on top in the Ladbrokes Premiership clash.

“There was a worry towards the end of the first half that the game could be abandoned,†Harkins said. “We were leading 4-1 so the weather became the biggest threat to us getting a win and at half-time I thought it was in real danger. “The snow was coming down but thankfully it eased up. The ball moved well so the conditions weren’t a problem.

“I thought the conditions suited me – it was cold and wet and players were barely moving.â€

Watched Sportscene for the 1st time in donkeys this morning.  From the highlights, it was indeed the Gary Harkins show.

I think GGH may have cemented his starting spot for the next couple of weeks at least.

btw has CC been on in the last couple of days to wax lyrical about Harkins performance?  He must have noticed it surely?

As you say the man's class. Never mind his fitba skils, he went even further up in

my estimation there, wi' his droll, self deprecating humour. (Always the best kind)
