Double Fitness Boost For Dundee

Dundee boss Paul Hartley has been handed a double injury boost ahead of tonight’s Scottish Cup clash with Falkirk.

Spanish centre-back Julen Etxabeguren returns to the squad this evening, and Kevin Holt has come through unscathed after a nasty clash with Shay Logan in last Friday’s Aberdeen defeat.

Paul said: “Kevin is fine — he just got a few stitches.

“He went to hospital on Saturday morning just to check if everything was OK.

“He has trained OK and is heading the ball fine.â€

On Julen, who returns from an eye problem, he added: “He has been training.

“He will be back in the squad tonight and will probably play tomorrow for the U/20s also.â€

Julen is expected to be on the bench, with Bulgarian Kosta Gadzhalov likely to play alongside Thomas Konrad.

Darren O’Dea is unavailable having not been registered in time for the original game.

“We will miss him but it’s good we have someone else to bring in,†said Paul.

The gaffer reckons the Dark Blues will have to be at their best to beat Peter Houston’s Championship high-flyers Falkirk.

“They are cup specialists,†he said.

“We will have to be at our very best to get a result.

“The players have been well warned on that. We have seen them a number of times.

“Peter has them well drilled and they have some excellent players.â€
