Cordoba Striker Arturo Can ‘Restart Career’ At Dundee

Arturo Juan Pérez-Reverte can kick-start his faltering career in Scotland, that’s the view of Spanish journalist Martín de la Virgen.

Last week Dundee unveiled the 26-year-old former Getafe frontman on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Expected to make his bow for the U/20s on Wednesday he was left out of the squad to work on his fitness, although he is in with an outside chance of making the squad for this weekend’s clash with Motherwell.

De La Virgen, a football writer currently for local paper Diario Cordoba, believes it could be just the move the striker needs after a poor spell in the Spanish Segunda with Los Blanquiverdes.

“He has not been much of a success at Cordoba,†said the Spaniard, who knows him well from his 18 months at in Andalucia.

“But maybe he feels he can restart his career in Scotland.

“He had offers from other clubs in Spain but decided not to take them. I think he was right to do that.

“He is better playing at a higher level in Scotland than he is in the lower leagues here.

“He’s a player who was told he could leave last summer but he decided to stay to fight for his place.

“Arturo maybe got a few minutes at the start of the season but he has not been given much of a chance since then.

“This could be the right switch for him. I hope it all works out for him, as it just did not at Cordoba.â€
