Kane Hemmings Awarded Ladbrokes Premiership Player Of The Month

Kane Hemmings has been named Ladbrokes Premiership player of the month for January.

The striker who has scored 16 goals this season, scored four goals in six games as Dundee held onto their top six position and beating the target of 15 goals set by manager Paul Hartley at the beginning of the season.

He started the month by netting in the Dundee derby to set up The Dee for a victory over Dundee United. Kane then opened the scoring from the penalty spot against Partick Thistle in a 4-2 victory at Firhill. A double in the Scottish Cup against Falkirk was followed by another spot kick, this time a pressure penalty late on to grab Dundee a point against Motherwell at Dens.

David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: "Kane Hemmings has been outstanding for Dundee last month and this award shows that his hard work is getting noticed, already he has achieved his target of 15, but that won't stop him increasing the numbers.

Well deserved. I never thought I'd see another striker hit the form of Tommy Coyne but that's what Kane has done. Ten goals in a little over five weeks is incredible. I just hope he can keep it up.
