The Return Of The Casuals ?

There was a story on the Scottish news, I have to say, it struck me as the Police 'hitting back' at the campaign to allow alcohol in Scottish grounds. One of the examples on the news was Hamilton V Dundee FFS. If this is the kind of thing the Police are concerned with and classing as 'Casuals' then its a non story. I'm a law and order kind of a cat but unless there's loads of things that aren't making the news (unlikely, there are plenty that like a good football/hooligan story) then I'm at a loss to what they're talking about.

I'm all for banning the twats who aren't there to watch a game of football but I genuinely haven't seen anything that I'd call organised fights, or fights of any description since that wee fracas between some teenagers at Hamilton.

My point is am I missing something or has there been an increase in all the 'nawty bois'.

Same here Chomp, not one for trouble at games, not that I've seen much tbh, and hate the seeming increase in 'pyrotechnics' nowadays.

Usual nonsense from Police Scotland, no doubt backed up with horrifying statistics about trouble at football grounds all over Scotland. There is no problem with hooliganism in scottish football, are there a few idiots? Yes, but that doesn't constitute a resurgence of the kind of trouble that was seen in decades gone by. Seems to me to a story the Police like to roll out a couple of times a year, people can make their own minds up as to the reason for that..
