Life After Kt

Recommended Posts

After watching the Dee, its seems we are getting over the loss of KT in the centre, you wont see a better player in midfield in the SPL on his day, his tackling passing, and tactical ability cannot be questioned - however we probably got familiar with this as he was injured for so long, on and off! Harkins has been instrumental, and is showing signs of the player we all knew and came to watch, his confidence is back, however he doesn't have the fitness to see a game out - thats clear. Hemming's is on fire, and we should look to tie him up asap. Dundee are missing some strength in the team in the centre, size, we have Loy, McGowan, and the ever improving Ross. However PH needs to look for some strength, the good thing is we are not lumping it through the middle, we are playing good football, however we need to be consistent. (IMO) I would like to see some size in the middle, its fair to say against some of the larger built teams we have struggled. Interesting to see St Johnstone have some impressive CVs on trial at the moment, would be good to get some experience and strength/tactician in midfield. I think we will hit the top 6 if we continue to work hard and grind out the results of late.

encouraging, and with some realism, we are playing around where we should be, we are not the finished article and the boo boys need to support and see the larger picture. However Ive have been there giving it F & C's at the game - its no easy as a Dee Fan, but we are getting their. Not so sure the Cally boys are what we need, don't see how they are much different than what we have got. My old man was watching the Dee train, said the Spanito lad can finish and has decent dribbling....... Keep up the good work PH and DFC, and get Stevie C back in!

To be honest, I thought we were going to miss KT a lot more than we have, in fact I forgot he was playing for us at one point. If you have to look at a player right now, it has to be Nicky Ross, as I think he has now taken to the role he was forced into rather well. The game against St Johnstone was his best yet and I do believe we are now beginning to see the best of him.

Harkings is like a man reborn and as you say, he is back to his old self again in the forward position. I loved how he took the ball away from Swansons feet and that first time pass to Hemmings was just class. For someone that is supposedly unfit and does track back, he covered a lot of the pitch and never stopped running all night.

There was never much doubt we'd survive without KT - we did it often enough when he was with us!

What has pleasantly surprised me is that the mood seems to have improved since he left, perhaps his influence at the club was more negative than we understood. And Harkins seems to have taken on a new lease of life since KT's untimely departure. Perhaps just coincidences.

His first visit to Dens (should Hibs come up) will be interesting.

As a big KT fan (when fit) i have been more than happy with the level of Nick Ross's game in that position since the derby game I suppose. Still some lingering doubts tbh that should be lost by the lad continuing to do the job consistently. On the other hand he's infinitely more reliable than KT was. Can't see KT being a consistent performer at this level again.

I agree with this the whole mood of the players particularly GGH has completely changed since he left. Perhaps there is some truth in rumours that he was a Billy big baws and that the players were unhappy with his appearance/training record and that he seemed to always get his place back straight away

I think there was maybe a belief among the squad, coaching staff and support that the team needed KT fit for us to get a top performance and good result.

Since he's gone the mindset has totally changed. The players needed to step up and deliver without him and they've done that. Harkins in particular has been fantastic.
