At the risk of sounding boring and repetitive (never 😀), it's been tight all season yet the same teams have been in those exact same clusters pretty much from the off (Hamilton maybe dropped down?)

And I'll be surprised if they finish much different t.b.h. i think possibly Saints and 'Well might be the likeliest to jump up/down. I'll admit i would be disappointed if we don't make 4th.

I want the club to finish top 6 for the split and then achieve 4th after the split fixtures have been played......however there is a small part of me that wouldnt be too disapointed if we were in the bottom six but clear of the play off spot and thus had the chance of one more derby where we put the final nail on the lid of those dayglo chunts!!

Just had a quick look at the fixtures and Kilmarnock look like they have the hardest run of fixtures (after our game) upto the split. They've played a game more and still have to play Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts.

Caley's next 3 games are all away. Celtic then us followed by Hearts plus Ross County away before the split.

If we could get 6 points from the next 2 games we should pull away a bit. Won't be easy though.

We have flitted between 9th and 5th (joint 4th). Give me 6th on the day after the split and the worry of a late nosedive will be gone and we can be serious about 4th.

Killie have been poor but with a new manager and a team as liable to take points off Celtic, as they are to get humped by Doondee United, I don't think we can rely on them going quietly. Hopefully Saints and Hamilton will continue to slide and both of them were top half not that long ago.

I'll be surprised if the table finishes the way it is right now, someone always goes on a surge and someone always plummets when it isn't that expected.

We've taken 10 point from our last 5 games which is a good return but are still only 6 points off the playoff. On a different day the Partick away game and Saints at home could have been a draw or defeat.

My point is that it has taken us some above average results to pull away slightly so unless we continue to do that in the next few games then we could easily be dragged back into the fight. My feeling is that every team that ends up in the bottom six will be separated by only 2/3 points come the split

If you asked fans of all the other 4th to 11th clubs they could probably furnish equally dodgy results. When things are this close its narrow margins that make a difference and you can throw the odd questionable Reffing decision into the mix too.
