Williams And Vincent

Inverness CT manager John Hughes has stated that his side Inverness couldn't match Dundee's terms that they have offered Danny Williams and James Vincent, "Trust me some of the money Dundee are offering we cannot match".
Speaking to the Highland press, Hughes confirmed that it looks likely that the pair will sign 3 year contracts for Dundee, which will commence in the Summer.

Dundee manager Paul Hartley insists the Americans are the ‘real deal’, and also states that Dundee do not need to sell and that after two years of hard work at the club, he believes the Dees are ready to shine, "We're just building this squad, it's taken nearly two years to build it," Hartley told BBC Scotland. "Everything behind the scenes too, the structure of the club, I feel we're getting there now."

I like the way PH does his business, identify, approach, sign. No fuss, no dramas, and most of his signings have been successes.

I will look forward to seeing next season's squad take shape once we get ourselves mathematically sure of our top-flight status.

Bit apprehensive here, maybe due to two Admins but don't like hearing we can splash cash other SPL teams can't.

Not on the slippery slope again I hope.

I've not seen anything in particular to set alarm bells ringing but its always at the back of my mind too. No KPI's etc mean that financially we're a closed shop so its a bit trickier to know how we're doing and how much FPS are putting in themselves. Not that I could make much of them myself but others can.  :dunce:  That maybe comes across as more negative than I intend it to and I'm not suggesting that we are going down the swanny, just that we're in the dark.....again.

If Vincent hasn't been offered a new deal by ICT, as rumoured, why are we going for him? If we're to progress we need to bring in better than we have just now.

Most Inverness fans agreed that he is a good player and Hughes just said positive things about him. The problem is though that he broke his leg a couple of years back and hasn't quite recovered fully with spells out from injury and because of that, Hughes wasn't ready to offer a new deal (but might have later).

He was a star for them in his first season and had a significant part to play in their good league performance. It's a risk but Hartley obviously feels that at 26, it's still possible to get him back to his best and see some of that again. In addition to the current squad, I don't think anyone could really say it doesn't improve us in any way (we are light on numbers in midfield).

If we had him right now, he could be covering wide where Loy is playing or providing cover for Ross or McGowan while also being an attacking midfield option. Not saying he's ideal but he's been part of a very good team in the past few years and played a good part in that. People forget that Inverness achieve a lot and although they've had a couple of guys that have stood out more than others, most of their players are very forgettable but are all good players at this level.
