Team For Rangers

Recommended Posts

Hartley has some difficult decisions to make after an outstanding performance last night.

I'd go with this team for Ibrox...

----------------------Bain

---McGinn----O'Dea---Julen---Holt

--Kerr----McGowan---Ross---Stewart

------------------Harkins

------------------Hemmings

Agree I'd rather go with Kerr and Stewart on the flanks than Stewart and Loy.

Thought the team that started against Celtic did such a good job why not play them again to start. I'd have thought that Celtic would provide a bigger test than Rangers. It must have been really demoralising for Celtic to have our best players coming on as subbie's. Just a thought that our team looked stronger as the game went on.

I really don't think Loy should be used on the wing after seeing other options there. He was very good last night and did well through the middle paired up with Wighton but based on what we saw from Kerr and Low, both of them are better equipped to work with the defensive side of things and Kerr in particular is good at just driving forward and changing our pace of attack.

The team was set up last night to close down quickly, stop Celtic building from the back and to hit them on the break, this is a high energy ploy that needs players like Kerr, Low and Wighton not your Gary Harkins and Greg Stewart types. Against Rangers we should be going at them not trying to stop them playing, they are not a great side and will also be considerably weakened.

I reckon we'll go with the OP line up except that Konrad will start ahead of Julen, Stewart will be on the right and Loy on the left i.e. back to normal. Still gives us great options from the bench if needed.

Happy to go with that as a better strategy!
