I'm more bothered about finishing top 6 to secure us being away from the playoff spot than for chasing a playoff spot for the Europa league tbh.

Knowing our luck we'd get some tinpot team from an old Soviet country, who are backed by an oil company whilst having to pay 100k to charter a plane and get knocked out costing us money

An early start in the Europa isn't anywhere near as bad as the Intertoto. I think we played Sartid in the middle of June.

First Europa League game for finishing 4th was 30th June this season. Aberdeen and St Johnstone were playing pre-season friendlies in the middle of June this year.

Didnt we get cheated in the away leg or something controversal happened

We got a good dicking like 5-2 or something.

I remember something about a really harsh penalty and allegations that the ref had been given gifts by the home team. However did Romano also got two yellows but didn't get sent off? My old memory isn't what it used to be so might not be right

Going by the Scotsman report, it sounds like we deserved to go out.

"At the outset, Bonetti's men could hardly have calmed their nerves quicker, Caballero putting them ahead after only five minutes. But once again Dundee, just as they did so often in the Premier League, were their own worst enemies, mixing flair and invention with periods of indiscipline and slack marking.

"By contrast, Sartid were efficient, 100% committed and the consequence was that Dundee found themselves 3-1 down at the interval and staring an early exit from the competition."
