Even Barry Robson said it shouldn't have been red, he thought McKay would have been too wide & too close to the goal-line by the time he caught the ball, and two defenders were heading for the goal.

Refs, though, have no alternative view of it & a few seconds to decide.....the linesman was also on the far side.

It wasn't a good decision by Bain though, unfortunately.

Apparently next season, that type of "non violent" challenge will only be a yellow....a sensible move.

We should challenge it, but PH won;t.

Do the DABs put £££££  in the pocket o referees, I know its not true but just seems that way, but it phucking happens far too often for my liking, every game they get a game changing decision (incorrectly).

Not disputing penalty just sending off.

I can see why it's given and from the refs position I can see why he gives and if it was the other way we would have wanted a red, but I did think at the time that the lad touch had taken him slightly away from goal and there was a defender back. The bigger thing though is why Bain felt he needed to dive in, surely he should stand big and force the guy wide!!

Bain has to know that at 2-0 up at the start of the second half against a weaker team, conceding a goal is far more preferable to a penalty and red card. Maybe a more experienced keeper would have dealt with that situation differently.
