Yet again this ref, whose brother played for the DABs, gives another contentious decision ie the sending off against us. No complaints about the Pen was a reckless challenge by Bain.

However why didn't he send Konrad off for this? Forget the fact that Mackay Steven kicked Konrad and went down surely this is more of a goal scoring opportunity?

There is a 'keeper in goal though and it's at a tight angle with another player to come over and block. Although there is dispute over how much in control McKay is, it's a lot easier to see that there was a possibility of an open goal so I can understand why the red was given in Sunday's case as opposed to that.

I can understand why there is great debate about this. I think in real time, it looks a pretty clear cut red to everyone in the ground but it's only really apparent on replays that he's played the ball into a wide position a couple of yards ahead of him and there is a chance Holt might clatter him or cover the angle. Think the rule needs to be better defined for what a 'goal scoring opportunity' is (and it looks like that is happening from next season). I mean, you can argue anything is an obvious goal scoring opportunity if you try hard enough.

Was a harsh red card as Holt was covering and was going away from goal. I think we should win the appeal.

Thought at the time the ref was very quick to go to his pocket. The ref and the linesman got a lot of grief just before half time from the utd fans and players for the apparent stamp by Stewart and apparent offside goal. Both proved to be the correct decision by the ref but I reckon the previous pressure put on him would have influenced his decision.
