Season So Far

I'm really happy with where we are, I think we could have picked up a few more points than we have, but hey ho.

10th place was always the aim this season and I would still be over the moon with that. The next month will have a big say in how the season pans out, 2 winnable games coming up away then St Mirren and Ross Cty at home......victories there then we plan for next season and then how to send Celtic packing in the cup.

The bottom line is this season was and still is about making sure we stay up. We need to estbalish ourselves first and foremost as a mainstay in the top division - bearing this in mind, 12 points clear of the bottom 2 spots and 1 point off the top 6 is at this stage is an excellent position to be in. Also through to the next round of the cup.

In the second round of fixtures we have yet to play any of the bottom 3 and have just played the top 2 in the league.

Yesterday was a wee bump back down to earth which won't do us any harm IMO. Sounds daft, but sometimes it's good to have a wee reminder to keep the feet on the ground. Got some favourable fixtures coming up before the derby and I am confident we can take at least 7 points from those 3.

Definitely going in the right direction. For me we need to look for more than just scrapeing 10th. I would like to see us stay up comfortably and to do that we need more home wins than we are currently producing.

Derby aside we have matched most teams but still look susceptible to pace and quick breaks. Personally think we look miles better when we play with width in the team.

Centre half cover is still an issue and ideally I think we would have some squad turnover in the break. If Hartley can pick out some gems like Konrad and McPake again then that will improve things hugely.

In short I'm happy but not getting carried away.

Edited to add that ross county look so so poor that there is no excuse for not finishing above them

And so am I Ootdoor............ you are probably right in saying we could have picked up a few more points.

But it is also true to say we could also have lost a few more points. Any DFC defeat maks me seek, but realistically (especially efter having a day to rationalise and recover) ....... I think things are going just fine for oor club this season.          Jist keep awa fae the bottom o' the table.
