Holt And O'dea

Heard a couple of timres that there was handbags between the 2 at half time on Saturday? I was at the game and never saw anything. Anyone know what the story was here?

Yep, there was lot of pushing and shoving as they went off at the break just after County got their second, with O'Dea getting stuck into Holt. Hands were raised. 

Schalk broke free on Konrad on O'Dea for the goal, so it must have been about something else, unless Holt provoked him with some verbals, but O'Dea definitely was the aggressor.

Got the feeling that holt was sticking up for mitchell as odea blamed him for the goal and had a right go at him for it but seemed to all been made up in 2nd half as the shook hand and high foved before the start

I think that'd reflect really badly on O'Dea if that's the case. Berating a 'keeper after failing to stop a shot is utterly moronic behaviour. If it was maybe something between them that went wrong then fair enough but it's not like Mitchell intentionally made the decision to allow the goal or anything. Fair enough, Mitchell could have done better but I'm sure he'll be reliving it in his mind all the time until he gets another shot to play for us. It wasn't a howler in the sense that if he saved it, everyone would have been lauding the save as his reactions were good but he just didn't get a solid enough hand on it.

Watching back the highlights, it seems O'Dea is shouting abuse at Mitchell within a second of the ball entering the net so I think this is a good theory.

O'Dea is probably just a better winner than me though! Suppose that comes with a ridiculous amount of arrogance.

The second goal was going over and wide until Mitchell got the hand to it. I think that's why o'dea was having a go at him.

Holt was maybe saying that odea shouldn't have shown schalk towards goal on his stronger foot? Things are said in the heat of the moment and it appeared all was forgotten about come the second half.

The strikers had the game pretty much won before the defence gifted County a way back into the game on the stroke of half-time by conceding a really poor goal. I'm glad that O'Dea was angry. It shows he cares.

Nothing wrong with a wee rammy now and then.hopefully it happens in training too.shows a real desire and players shouldn't be afraid to give team mates pelters.
