Lots of guys hurting tonight, (rightly so) but at any other stage in the season when playing Celtic, Ross County and Accies would you have taken a 4 point return from these 3 games?

Irrelevant now but I think it's a reflection on how far we've come recently and our supporters expectations are getting higher as we go on.

We have had raised expectations and that's a measure of how far we've progressed, it wasn't that long ago we were getting cuffed by Cowdenbeath and having to get out sharpish before the stock cars were getting set up. Today was a sickener but 3 years ago if we'd been offered the chance of being in with a shout of top 6 in the SPL we'd have sold our grannies.

I hate this "3 years ago" rubbish, means hee haw! Football changes very quickly, just look across the road! We should be angry/disappointed as a group of fans but not really surprised I suppose seeing as Hartley can't instil a big game mentality in his squads.

No I never said that. This summer is gonna be very important in his time here though. He has not proven he has the ability to put a balanced, strong squad together which is what is required in this league.

Lets face it St J and Well have been honking this year and beat us into 6th. We have a squad that at most performs for 45 minutes every week but rarely for 2 weeks in a row. This will be looked back on as a really big balls up of a season especially next year with Rangers back.

I know you "never said that" but you're basically saying he's done a poor job. If he's that bad then surely we should get rid. I'm not trying to lead you up the garden path here, you seem to think he's been poor so why would you want to keep him.

Ability wise we should be fourth but we have a lightweight squad which we all knew but Hartley has done nothing about

We have to decide-can he learn o?.

I think this has been a poor season yes. Anyone who doesn't is kidding themselves. I hope he can see the glaring defincies in his squad and rectify them this summer and somehow figure out how to motivate a team for big games.

I hope he can keep improving but serious questions need to be asked otherwise how are we gonna improve?

I think the frustration comes from the fact that a lot of fans (including myself) believe we had a squad this season who on their day have been the 4th best team in the league. Possibly Ross County would argue they have been but certainly Motherwell and St Johnstone have not been great.

The comparisons with 3 years ago aren't really relevant now. We have owners who have put a lot of money into the club to ensure we have the players capable of competing. We've had to change our team around year on year but so has every team around us too

What questions should be asking ? "Serious questions" is such a cliche. You've flagged some failings as you see them, where do you think we should be this season.

What's cliçhed about it?

I think we should have been comfortably top 6 and certainly a few rounds further in the league cup.

Can Hartley settle on a formation he wants to play?

Can he stop the leaking of goals?

Can he identify and get the type of midfielder we are crying out for?

Can he motivate his squad for big games?

Why was Arturo signed?

All questions about his ability in the position from this season in my eyes.
