Resignation From Dfcss Board

DFCSS Rep

Recommended Posts

Alan McEwan has, unfortunately, resigned from the society board.

There is a statement to this effect on the society website.

Just want to add a personal thanks to Alan for his efforts and support over the past few months and to wish him all the best in his future ventures.

Would like to ask what happens now? Agree that Alan has put in a great deal of time and effort, but the job is not complete, and a replacement will be required. Hope the Board of DFC are concerned about the situation and that there will be some news of future plans.

DFCSS requires more volunteer directors and the 2015 AGM which was due to be held by 30th November 2015 should be held asap.

In my opinion the current board of directors should be organising fund raising in case the Americans decide to leave.

DFCSS has first refusal on the Americans share holding in Dundee Football Club.

The share capital of Dundee Football Club has increased from £713,720 at 31st May 2013 to £1,490,028 (at 18th February 2016).  https://companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/the-dundee-football-club

I also enclose the Dundee Football Club annual accounts for the year ended 31st May 2014 which also shows the annual accounts for year ended 31st May 2013. http://dundeefc.co.uk/files/1425038210DundeeFootballClubLtdDirectorsreportandfinacialstatementsfortheyearended31May2014.pdf

The current owners of the club haven't signalled their intent on leaving the club any time soon. If anything, they seem a lot more committed to the club for the long run and I for one would welcome the stability to the club that this brings. While I understand that they haven't delivered on everything they promised (Buy back Dens) they have done more or less everything else that they promised.

We have had uncertainty, instability and and bad management for nearly 40 years of the clubs history and the last two years have shown us what it is like to have people in control who have a brain for running the club. Rather than raising funds in case they leave, why not build better stronger ties and bonds with them to keep them here for the long run.

And calling them the 'Amercians' comes across as demeaning and derogatory imo.

In all seriousness, and as has been said by Brian and others. Its a shame Alan couldn't continue in his role as the progress that he (along with all the other dfcss directors) has made since the re-shuffle last year has been outstanding. Lots of legacy issues rectified and put to bed, membership issues resolved and new stratagies being implemented to get the society back on track. Not to mention the strengthening of relationships with the club board. Just a shame he never did get the hang oh that tweeting malarky  :lol2:

If calling them Americans is demeaning and derogatory what am I supposed to call them.

I cannot call them Football Partners Scotland (FPS) because Steve Martin is one of the members of the partnership.
