Read something on another forum. In short, the 3 teams who just made top 6 all played an extra home game whilst the 3 teams who just missed out all played an extra away game.

Relevant? Well, let's just imagine that the Hamilton game had been at Dens instead of NDP...

It just highlights what a joke our league is when we're competing against teams who play a different number of home and away games. You accept the luck of the draw will influence the cup but not the fucking league.

If we were given a 17th home game like Motherwell, St Johnstone and County we'd probably be sitting in fourth place just now.

It's definitely not a level playing field and, given the amount of money our failure to reach the top 6 is going to cost us, is likely to have consequences that run into next season and beyond.

Agreed. We were top six after 16 home games and 16 away games while Ross County were bottom six having played the same number of games home and away. On what planet is it fair to split the league the following week after we've played an  extra away game and County have played at home? It's a farce.

Seen a few posts on here moaning about the split and it's set up.

We knew the situation. We made an ar** of it on Saturday when fate was in our own hands. That however was just a culmination of too many dropped points over the course of the season. Absolutely nobody to blame but ourselves. No point moaning about the league set up now that we've missed out.

Didn't see folk moaning when we had an extra home game last season and made it?

Last season we won 5 at home and 6 away while Hamilton won 6 at home and 6 away so the unfairness of the split wasn't so apparent.

This season with both Dundee and County strong at home and poor away, the final day scheduling has proved decisive and highlights the unfairness.

The English media moaned about the lack of video technology after Lampard was denied a perfectly good goal at the World Cup. You can call it sour grapes but it doesn't change the fact that they were right.

Anything but Paul Hartley and the players really ;)

Hartley and the players are to blame for us being poor away from home just like McIntyre and his players are to blame for them being poor away from home.

The point is we should be facing the same challenges as other teams.

The split is stupid other than creating a bit of excitement pre split and the uneven home and away fixtures is poor but it's the set up we've had and known about for 15 years and not a word would be said about it if we had made top 6 on Saturday.

I hate the playing each other 4 times a season. I'm probably in the total minority with what I'm about to say but even the upcoming derby despite United's position I can't be bothered with right now having just played them a few weeks ago. The whole set up is a joke but as long as we are too greedy to get away from playing each other 4 times a season rather than expanding the league and playing each other twice a season which would make every game of the season massive and fresh as you only play each other once a year home and away then I'm afraid it's what we're stuck with.
