I like Tam (Havent seen enough of Gadz) but IMO, we should be aiming to sign better

I dont think either 1 is good enough for DFC starting 11.

Maybe at a push 1 of the 2 as back up but will depend on what money they are on

See link for Konrad's thoughts. I cannot see Gadzhalov being offered a new contract and Konrad is a mibees aye, mibees no. Need to get a big, strong, non injury prone centre half for next season.

If we do bring in a new centre half who do you think PH will drop out of Mcpake / Jules to play along side O`Dea.

I dont think PH will bring in a centre half to be in starting 11 - i think he`ll go with Jules and O`Dea , be interesting what happens with Mcpake.

As much as want Mcpake to get back playing , im not comfortable with him as our centre half - very rash n dodgy

I'd go along with that but it just depends who we can sign tbh.

Neither are awful players at this level, haven't peaked and are integrated well with the team. My worry would be that if we get another player who maybe doesn't have experience at this level or does have one issue and we could be worse off. It's all well wanting to sign someone proven but it's easier said than done.

I don't know the budget but I'd be tempted to hold onto one of them and sign someone else. McPake looked very poor in appearances this season and then has suffered a bad injury and also has a bad injury past before us. O'Dea isn't young and gets knocks from time to time. Julen has been injured a lot and is relatively inexperienced at this level. With that in mind, there is potential things can go wrong and with the back 3 getting an outing recently, I think we need 5.

I previously liked the idea of Steven Anderson from St Johnstone but he's hit a decline and seems to be injured a lot recently. David Raven looks like he's leaving Inverness but he's also had fitness worries for the whole season and isn't predominately a centre back.

Danny Seaborne at Partick Thistle is 29, doesn't have a bad injury history and seems to have had a good season. Don't know how possible that'd be though as Thistle give the impression that their players are generally quite happy (and he's playing every week). Only issue I could see with him though is that like Julen and O'Dea, he's not blessed for pace so might be too similar.

Against the poorer teams in the league Konrad seems to stroll it but against better strikers he seems to really struggle. If we are going to progress I think we need a better centre back than him or he needs to improve himself. There are definitely signs that he has improved and could continue to.

I like Gadz and thought he has done well anytime he has played. Over his year and a half at the club he hasn't played enough games so don't think he can really merit a new contract. His chance to shine and hold down a place in the team was the last derby but he got injured at the wrong time.

Personally I think that O'Dea is our one quality centre back. McPake has another year but don't think he is good enough to be near the starting 11 and is the only 1 I'd 100% try and move on. The jury is still out on Jules especially over whether he can be relied upon to play enough games. What I would really like to see next season is the same defence playing week in week out. Been too much chopping and changing this year.

If Hartley knows of a CB who can come in and walk into the starting 11 then sign him up but I'd rather keep with what we have rather than sign someone who is untested at this level. Quality centre backs are few and far between these days.

I reckon we can afford to go with 4 out and out centre backs. Even if we want to go with the back 3 again we will have Meggatt and McGinn (assuming he stays) as additional cover. Would rather see the wages spent on quality than quantity.

I've a friend who's a Pars supporter and says while their forwards are getting all the praise, their CH, Ben Richards-Everton is an absolute rock. He's 6ft 5in and a no nonsense defender. He's played over 40 games this season (unlike our's) so injury free. Sure PH knows about him.

We've been saying all season that we lose too many cheap goals.

We have to be looking to improve the squad year on year and I will be disappointed if we can't get better than both.

Would keep Konrad if push came to shove, but after a season (and a bit), Gadz is still a mystery because he either couldn't get a game or has been injured. Time to let him move on.

Already scored for us too
