May upset a few  here wi this, but really don,t think mcginn  is all that good.

Now ah ken he,s still young an got a lot tae learn an all that, but still think Kerr wid be a better bet at right back.

Watching him week in week out,its like for every good tackle he maks, theres three occasions when hes either caught oot o, position or his lack o pace is exposed.

Saw the second goal against Inverness again yesterday - wis oot o position, and his lack o pace tae get back wis exposed.

Also saw a couple o times in the match Boyle wis expecting him tae mak the overlap - he didn,t.

When he did overlap, his final ball wisnae very good either.

No wanting this tae sound like a diatribe against him - honest.

Just think kerr  has the pace needed, has a better delivery and is more versatile, and no eh,m no Cammy,s dad.

Know what you are saying mainstand but i like him. I actually thought he was a contender for MOM on saturday. He's a steady player and we have to remember this is his first season full time. He will get better and stronger and i think he will be a great asset for the club.

Think Kerr will also get better. Think we will be ok for right back for a few seasons :)

Here we go again with the Kerr chat Unproven at this level and yet he is a world beater

McGinn was excellent yesterday. His timing of  tackle is superb. How anyone can moan is beyond me.

Not sure Mainstand is moaning.  Over critical and a bit harsh maybe but he's just highlighting McGinn's weaknesses.  We can certainly question his postional sense at times but like i've already said he can only get better. Still an excellent signing in my opinion

Respect your view Mainstand but disagree with it.. McGinn has been terrific this season and is continuing to get better every game. His defensive play this year has saved our bacon on more occasions than I could list and he is improving his attacking play with every match. Contender for player of the season for me..

Think Mcginn has worked on his defending from the start of the season and puts a great effort in trying to stop crosses coming into the box. He struggles against pace (which full back doesnt) needs to be more ruthless and take one for the team now and again ie putting wingers in the stand when he gets beat, this is something that Irvine does well!!!!

Until I see Kerr play I cant compare only seen brief sub appearences from him.

I think he is getting better and better. He is made a huge step up and is playing consistently well. No doubt he has a lot to learn but playing and training with experienced pros like McPake and Irvine will most certainly be helping him.

A great find and buy by PH

No meaning tae moan Bainsleeve, maybe just fraustrated at what eh see are weaknesses in the side.

Kerr.s 19,Mcginn is 22.

Cannae see Mcginn playing for Scotland,he,s nae pace.

No saying Kerr will play for Scotland but in my opinion he,s mair chance .

Personally think McGinn is decent, as you say lacks a yard of pace and I would like to see him improve his crossing a bit but thats really splitting hairs. As SPL full backs go he is steady and dependable.

Like Bainsleeve (some moniker btw!) says I have no idea how anyone could say that Kerr is better than him though? Some folk seem to have this romantic notion of the youth players that they are all class. The boy is our 4th choice full back learning his trade at the moment, as many say there is a huge difference between develpment league and SPL.

Kerr has more chance? Based on what mate?

McGinn was a part time footballer 10 months ago....

Apparently McGinn is the fastest in the team over 100m so I don't understand where this "lack of pace" is coming from, he regularly chases down his winger from behind and gets the tackle in to win the ball.
