No Europe For 4Th

Recommended Posts

With Sunday's result at Hampden, surely we're happier now in the bottom six, apart from extra cash for finishing higher up the league, which will never motivate players.

Come on, finish 4th or relegate your biggest rivals? It was all meant to be.

I want my team to be the best they can be, I don't care what goes on over the road. Our only sucess this season appears to be their failings, thats not good enough for me.

Is this covering up our failings this season?

What if we don't relegate utd?

What if we do get dragged into playoff battle?

No want to take this off topic .... But although I totally agree with you AMAPC on .... "I want my team to be the best they can be"

I do stiil take a lively interest on what happens doon the road. They have wallowed & relished every painful bit of our (self-inflicted)

troubles for years, believing that under their ridiculous title of being "world famouius, misfortune would/could never happen to them.

I'm not totally bothered if it is not us who relegate them. At this time I want us to avoid play-offs & THEM DOON asap.FOREVER.

100% mate.

Relegating DABS would be amazing - doesnt cover up the fact that this season has been a dissapointment.

PH and read Ross agree that this season has been a failure.

Think talk like what Cobra say is covering up the fact that teams like Ross County have had a much better season than us which is not on imo.

Esp given the funds PH has had.

Ross County's budget was a fair bit greater than ours apparently and they just scraped top 6. The players they have brought up from England would've cost a bit more than what we've spent whilst cherry picking the best of the available talent up here.

Whilst I agree with you this season has been a disappointment it certainly hasn't been a disaster, you just need to look over the road to see that.

Hi CC ... Is the word "failure" in the context o' PH/DFC no' maybe a bit strong ?

I agree, looking at some of the DFC's results & performances, it's no' too great.

When you compare it wi' Ross County & some others, it's  maybe a fair point.

I accept your initial description "disappointing season" I still think PH & DFC are

in for the long game. And making the the right progress. Maybe not as fast as I

would like at times. But overal, I am well pleased with the way things are going.

(Genuine question here) Are you advocating change of manager, or just tactics?

Regardless of what has happened earlier this season, success or failure is going to come down to 2 May.

Win, sending them down (or as good as) and it'll be viewed a success, lose and who knows what the reaction will be, especially if we are dragged into the play-off mix.

To get dragged into the play-offs, we'd have to be really really cr*p and lose our last five games. In which case, we'd deserve everything we got. We're on a good run and playing well, Hamilton apart.

Plus the other five teams would have to conspire to nobble us. If anyone can work it out, there must be only a couple of combinations of results out of 1000 that would bother us. Off the top of my head of course.

One point at most will be enough. Don't fancy Killie at Inverness for a start, and I think United will get at least a draw v Hamilton, so of course that will boost their fading hopes.

If there was ever a club to put themselves in trouble when it seemed impossible then it's DFC. I know it seems extremely unlikely but until we are mathematically secure from the play-off spot i'll continue to wonder!

I've seen references to our budget along the lines 'especially with our budget' a few times now but I genuinely don't know why our budget is so emphasised? I would guess that Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, Dabs, County and St Johnstone all have bigger budgets. If this is the case then 7th place for 7th biggest budget shouldn't be considered as a failing. It's merely performing to financial expectation
