I don't know why but it always disturbs me when Paul Hartley speaks about the difficulty in holding on to players. At Christmas it was all about Greg Stewart and now it is Hemmings. Is he being realistic or softening up the fans so the club can cash in. Are the players not on contracts so the decision will be the clubs not the players.

We will have to "cash in " eventually. We are a selling club and if the moneys right players will be sold.

I think in the next 5-10 years the club would like to make some big sales but I don't think we need to sell any key players this summer just to balance the books.

hartley thinks different.... we dont need to sell.but we will just have to wait and see.

it has been reported that he is in talks with srewart regarding extended contract and will do

his very best to keep hemmings.

Inevitably it will happen.  But lets hope, not too quickly & not too many.

Imagine having the BOD financial backing to hold onto present players.

While next season, the ither lot are festering thoughts of a dismal, dank,

dark, depressing future of season in the "might never get oot division"

And PH/DFC Forwards are bursting at the bit, to get  back into goals

EVERY club in Scotland is a selling club, it's all about getting the right price, PH isn't stupid, he'll know how the players feel, and he'll know the clubs position, I think he's only answering the question honestly.

The key will be to sell the right players at the right time for the right money.

You don't want to go selling your best players just before a cup final, for example.

As long as PH has replacements either in place or in mind then we will be well positioned to cope with losing our valuable players. The reality is that if a club comes along and offers to vastly increase a players salary they won't have much choice but to negotiate a sale. But we need to stand firm and get full value for our players when this happens.
