Rangers Manager Complains About League Cup Games

Recommended Posts

Mark Warburton is complaining about Rangers having to play four league cup games in nine days. He omits to say that the SPFL have done Rangers a favour as this allows them to play a money-spinning friendly against Burnley FC on Saturday 30th July 2016. http://rangers.co.uk/matches/

If his players are too tired to play four games in nine days then he should cancel their friendly against Burnley to give his players a proper rest prior to the start of the SPFL on 6th August 2016.

Geez, the little club just get into the premiership and are already barking out orders....

Surely you are not surprised. There are other teams such as East Fife in our section, who play all their league cup sectional games commencing 16th July 2016  without a break which we had last night. East Fife do not play on 30th July 2016 which is the last round of matches.  I enclose the Betfred (League Cup) website.http://spfl.co.uk/league-cup/

I have not heard Gary Naismith manager of East Fife complaining about his part-time players having to play four games in ten days. Rangers play Stranraer on Monday 25th July 2016 which is live on BT Sport while the rest of this round of fixtures takes place the following night. This gives the full-time Rangers players an extra day to recover before their friendly against Burnley.
