The Americans stated they had a long term plan when they came in, I'm sure it was either 5 or 7 years that they quoted, I'd say that two and a half years into PH's reign we're doing fine, two seasons with out fear of relegation is progress in my eyes, it's a pity about the cup runs, but I for one am happy with the progress we're making, of the park can do with a lot of improvements, but I don't just blame the club for that, DFCSS have to take some responsibility

Not a DFCSS apologist, but I;ve seen their name bodied about a fair bit recently.

From what I can work out the club want little or nothing to do with them, so I'm not sure how they can influence very much off the park?

I cant remember either, how long, their long term was either, but I am pretty comfortable with the progress made.

Regarding DFC's relationship with DFCSS, I think it is non-existent. Think they would prefer, they were not there.

I'm with you that things are better than we'd hoped for on the playing side although as others have said, DFCSS have next to no influence with FPS. What is it that you blame them for ?

if they have little or no influence, what is their purpose in existing. I always thought they were a go between, seems it didn't take the Yanks long to suss them out :P

I'd say the Americans are like most people in business - they want to manage things with as little external influence as possible. Not necessarily because the external influence are without knowledge, just they don't want to jump through hoops to get the job done.

It would really depend on what they see their role as, because of the shares they own in the club, they can't just 'fold' without passing them on.

Your view is that the supporters' society was quickly "Sussed out" by the clubs current BoD as an irrelevant go between, yet you hold the society responsible for lack of progress off the park since their arrival.

Those two views seem to be at odds to me.

How do you expect a purposeless, go between group to influence anything at the club and then hold them to account for lack of progress?

why not sell the shares to ordinary fans, small amounts say £10 or £20 worth max, then use the money to purchase season tickets for the disadvantaged, then call it a day and live in peace

Boba, that was tongue in cheek, and I claimed that after someone stated the Yanks didn't want anything to do with them

I don't know all the details, maybe Islay does but I'm pretty sure the shares can't be sold as such but have to go to a like minded organisation, there's a few clauses etc that are involved with the 'take over' too, stuff about not renaming the club or changing the stadium name that might make the Society 'disappearing' difficult. The thing with the Society is that you don't have to have anything to do with it if you don't want to so I don't get why some are desperate to take a swipe at it any chance they can.
