Is once again going to hold us back from having what we can call a good season. Exactly like last year, you can see that we have so much quality going forward to attack teams. Today was decent on the whole but the goals we lost in the first half were amateurish. Unless we somehow tighten up, which tbf we looked to after O'Hara came on, I'm fearing this season could be another lost opportunity.

Anyway, Greg Stewart.

Agree about O'Hara, I thought he was very good last week and the team looked better balanced when he came on today. Everything he tried didn't come off, however, he was always looking for the ball, always advising his team mates where he wanted it as well as advising them where to make runs - he's going to turn out a really good signing.

Our defence needed a complete overall and Hartley has failed to do that. It's actually weaker than last season and I'm starting to think that Cammy is not quite ready to make rb his own.

was impressed with O'Hara and he will be a starter. Also liked the look of Williams and Duffy today.

was pleased for big Yordi getting an assist as it was a great ball for Kane.

lets not kid ourselves, without Stewart and Hemmings we would be f**ked!!

Exactly mate!

Its so frustrating as we are great going forward and if we had a good defence we could be fighting it out for 3rd/4th in the table.

So much potential and we are letting ourselves down with a sh*t defence

Hartley said we are two to two and a half weeks away from full fitness and match sharpness.  By then we'll have a few players back and possibly new defensive signing(s).

We won today without a full strength team and apart from a couple of goalkeeping errors looked ok in what is basically still a pre-season friendly. We are still building things up.

The problem is tho these pre-season friendlies could have us out the cup before its begun. There is no room for error or experimentation.

If we start with three forwards and three attacking midfielders like today we're going to concede goals. As long as we have O'Hara starting when playing against better opposition I think we'll see the defence start to keep clean sheets.

We need to get players fit though. The league is our priority and we are building up fitness for it's start.

Any major honour is our priority IMO.

It's still reasonably early days window wise. A lot of teams are still deciding who they will have in there squads and players especially from down south will become available in the coming weeks. Hartley has made it clear he wants a new defender but isn't going to jump in and now it is abundantly clear hopefully the board might provide funds if required.  We aren't far away, one really good experienced defender could make a massive difference
