Is if, the idiot that agreed to the £250k buy out clause in Kane's contract still working at Dens,

before anyone jumps on the "how do you know" argument, it's obvious as hell,

the undisclosed fee

oxford claim four figures, but not near their £470k record

the non denial from inside Dens regards the sell on clause.

this idiot, who ever it is has cost our club a small fortune, Kane was a player struggling with his game, there wasn't exactly a que for his signature, we gave him a chance, and we all agree he paid back for being given the chance, but could he or his agent really hold us to ransom with this clause, I'd have expected us to walk away from any deal involving this clause.

Sorry, what do you mean the *non* denial?
I've already posted in here that Birmingham City were told 6 days ago that there was NO clause and that Dundee were demanding "Mega Money" for KH.

Yes, he or his agent could have held us to ransom with a clause.

I doubt we were the only club sniffing about for his signature. Even if it were only another Premiership or even higher-end Championship club we might have lost out on him without a release clause.

For all we know, the only reason Kane was willing to take a step down and earn lower money at Dundee was the fact that we were willing to give him a get-out clause for £250k.

Let's face it, that was a real coup getting a quality goalscorer like him to Dens. There was no risk, we knew he'd score goals, so it's no great surprise to find the deal was too good to be true.

I believe he would have been our highest ever transfer fee received. Around the 2 million mark.

For him to go for £250 k is an major shock and unbelievable situation. That clause must have been true!

Well someone has been telling porkies, it's even stranger that a club like Birmingham were looking to sign him, yet he's went to Oxford, and it's clear as day he's went on the cheap.

Exactly... As soon as the clause *rumour* broke the club were denying it left right and centre, even down to last week to Birmingham.
And if they DID then, to have this Oxford signing come back to bite them on the arse, then it shows criminal (And very very worrying) lack of business skills.

Am I right in thinking that transfer income will eventually be shown in the company results?

It will come out eventually.

if it was £250k less Hartleys cut, it will be gone by the end of September.

Cud it be that there was a 250k clause but possibly oxford paid say 350k to get him over other clubs?

nah because other clubs could come in and pay 250 at the same time and the bid would still have to be accepted.

Would you pay £120 for a pair of jeans if the price tag was £80 ?
